About Benton 4 Business

WELCOME

Welcome To Benton County, Indiana!  In 2007, Benton County started construction of Indiana’s FIRST Wind Farm and being the leader in bringing this renewable energy to our state gives us a great sense of pride.  Benton County has continued to reinvent itself since that historic event and our elected officials are dedicated to growing the business base of the county.

Being a very rural community with 94% agricultural footprint and an eclectic small town vibe makes Benton County the perfect community to start or expand a business and raise a family.  With a desire to grow it’s agricultural roots, lower its tax base and with prime business sites and a quality school system, we are eager to show off our assets.

We encourage everyone to come and visit the grand presence of the Benton County wind farms.  You will be impressed with the friendly people of our welcoming community.  Feel free to stop by and ask questions, and be sure to take a tour of the area!  We look forward to meeting you.

Sincerely, Latisha Provo, Director

OFFICES

The organization is a collaboration of the surrounding nine counties: Benton, Carroll, Cass, Clinton, Fountain, Montgomery, Tippecanoe, Warren and White. It is a great opportunity for Benton County to be a part of these organizations and develop as a region.

We encourage businesses to contact us with any questions they may have in regards to expansion, information on small business loans or items that need to be brought to our attention.  The only way we can help is if we communicate with each other.  We also encourage entrepreneurs who are interested in starting a business to contact our office for the materials needed to start in the right direction.

Please don’t hesitate to contact us!

OUR HISTORY

Beginning January 1, 2010 the Benton County, Indiana Amended Capital Improvement Plan was adopted to specify the use of revenues received by the county from the Economic Development Income Tax (EDIT). These revenues were planned to fund several different economic development projects including the funding of a Benton County Economic Development office. With the retention and expansion of our local business being the primary focus for the office, the Benton County Commissioners hired a full-time Benton County Economic Development Director and a part-time administrative assistant.
