ABOUT OUR OFFICE
Beginning January 1, 2010 the Benton County, Indiana Amended Capital Improvement Plan was adopted to specify the use of revenues received by the county from the economic development income tax (EDIT). These revenues were planned to fund several different economic development projects including the funding of a Benton County Economic Development office. With the retention and expansion of our local business being the primary focus for the office, the Benton County Commissioners hired a full-time Benton County Economic Development Director and a part-time administrative assistant.
Our office has joined the Indiana Technology Corridor (ITC) (www.indianastechnologycorridor.com) to focus on regional efforts to strengthen partnerships with the Private Sector, Government, the IEDC (International Economic Development Council), Education, the Department of Workforce Development and Utilities. The organization is a collaboration of the surrounding nine counties: Benton, Carroll, Cass, Clinton, Fountain, Montgomery, Tippecanoe, Warren and White. It is a great opportunity for Benton County to be a part of these organizations and develop as a region because it is a win win situation for all of us.
We encourage businesses to contact us with any questions they may have in regards to expansion, information on small business loans, or items that need to be brought to our attention. The only way we can help is if we communicate with each other. We also encourage entrepreneurs who are interested in starting a business to contact our office for the materials needed to start in the right direction.
Please don’t hesitate to contact us!
